Every year FEKM-France President Steve Schmitt hosts a 5-day Krav Maga course plus a 1-day break by Lake Annecy, the cleanest freshwater lake in France, in the foothills of the Alps.

In the mornings from 8 until 12 students are taught in six different groups, from beginners to black belts, by senior FEKM black-belt instructors.
For FEKM members eligible to grade this is also an opportunity to grade to your next belt.
Training is followed by lunch at the all-you-can-eat-and-drink hot and cold buffet (which includes red, white and rosé wine, juice, or even water). Lunch may be followed by a siesta (optional).
Two or three hours after lunch those who wish can attend various activities included in the price – last year these were knife fighting, handling firearms, visualisation for martial artists, how to meditate or just lounging by the pool, followed by instructor training or a walk down to the lake (also with a very pleasant bar and deckchairs in the sun!).
Dinner is again at the all-you-can-eat-and-drink hot and cold buffet (including red, white and rosé wine, juice, or even water), followed by some time in the very reasonably priced bar (quiz night, karaoke, talent show) or evening trips into town, or a game of pétanque.
There is wifi, the open air pool is a good size with a large area to relax and soak in the sun. The whole area is stunning as is the 360-degree view from within the resort itself.
Midweek, on Wednesday there is a day off from Krav Maga. A coach is laid on for an excursion into Annecy (a beautiful ancient town with lovely restaurants, walks and bars) then back to Krav Maga on Thursday and Friday.
+ 1s (or 2s, 3s and 4s) who just want to stay at the centre while others train are welcome. Accommodation is at the Le Pres du Lac – Ternelia holiday resort which is also ideal for families.

Friendships are made with Krav Maga students (and other guests) from all over France, from the UK, Belgium, Finland and Canada, the Krav Maga training is excellent. … And did I mention that the lunch and supper are at an all-you-can-eat-and-drink hot and cold buffet (including red, white or rosé wine, juice, or … even water)?
Travel:
In the past, some have flown from London to Lyon or Geneva, others have taken the coach (a rather long trip), or the train. Others have driven.
This summer we will be driving down on Saturday 9th of July and back on Saturday 16th. There is still 1 seat available in the car for anyone wishing to travel with us.
Cost:
Full bed and board for the week (including the buffet and wine) and the Krav Maga course and the activities is 745 Euros for FEKM members (£580 at today’s conversion rate), 800 Euros for non-members (£620) and 480 Euros (£375) for +1s bed and board.
Training only: 310 Euros (£240) for the five days or 65 Euros (£50) per day for FEKM members, 365 Euros (£285) for the five days or 75 Euros (£60) per day for non-members.
The approximate return cost for a car with 4 people travelling is £115 per person. Via plane, train then coach including transfers costs around £210 per person (flight prices checked via eDreams selecting the boxes to compare Bravofly and Opodo).
